People helping people...

Posted 30/07/13

I had a meeting today with Damien Goodsir, who is the pastor of the House of Breakthrough church. They do a lot of good things for people who need it, such as fitting smoke detectors for elderly folk, and helping young mums learn important skills that many of us take for granted.

Most of the time, Damien works as a builder, but he still fits in a lot of time to look after church and community ma
tters.

I'm keen to work with groups like Damien's, whether they are churches, service groups or not-for-profits. If they are able to help some of more vulnerable people, it all adds to the goal we all have of living in a community that is a pleasure to belong to. While that may sound a bit soft, the alternative is not something many would want, so I'm happy to contribute if I can.
