In addition to Waitaki needing a new Mayor, it also needs a number of Councillors. Also in the news today was an announcement that Kevin Malcolm has decided to step down after one term. I'm sorry to see him add his name to the list of those... not standing. So... We need good people to step up and put their hat in the ring! At this stage we need 1 for Ahuriri Ward (Waitaki valley from Otekaike up), at least 1 for Oamaru Ward (Oamaru & Weston) and 2 for Corriedale Ward (most of the rural area surrounding Oamaru).
